Dental Hygienist (Full-time and Part-time)

Description

We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. What do Dental Hygienists do? Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g. removing plaque) and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll also help dentists decide treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies. Dental Hygienist skills As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you also have a steady hand and great bedside manner, we’d like to meet you.

Requirements

 

  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)

  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • A patient and friendly personality

  • Attention to detail

  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Master’s is a plus

Dental receptionist  (Full-time and Part-time)

Description

We are looking to hire a personable dental receptionist to ensure that dental patients’ appointments are appropriately scheduled, rescheduled, or canceled, depending on the needs of the patients. The dental receptionist’s responsibilities include entering patient information onto our data system, answering patients’ questions, and arranging referrals to other dental specialists. You should also be able to prepare billing statements. To be successful as a dental receptionist, you should be able to organize and maintain patient waiting areas as well as front-desk areas. Ultimately, a top-performing dental receptionist will perform all duties in a manner that ensures the efficient running of the dental practice.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice.

  • Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed.

  • Assisting patients to fill out information forms.

  • Preparing patients’ charts and daily schedules for the dental staff.

  • Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures.

  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders.

  • Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments.

  • Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.

  • Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing.

Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Certification in office administration, medical administration, or related fields is advantageous.

  • Proven experience working in a dental office.

  • Sound knowledge of dental terminology.

  • Proficient in dental practice management software (Dentrix).

  • Working knowledge of general administrative practices.

  • Good telephone etiquette.

  • Exceptional organizational skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

Dental Assistant  (Full-time and Part-time)

Description

We are growing. We just expanded our hours to be mainly Tuesday through Friday in both our Tacoma and Puyallup Offices (with some Mondays). We are looking for a chairside surgical assistant. We want to be overstaffed to offer balance to are already hard working team members for work life balance and ultimately we will have both of our offices open on the same days as we are growing year after year.
If you don't have dental assisting experience, but you are interested in getting great on the job training, we are also looking to bring on someone to assist with sterilization, turning over hygiene rooms, and setting up for surgery as our currently sterilization tech is now seeing post op patients and doing more and more assisting. There is an opportunity to start in sterilization and work your way into assisting right away.

Responsibilities​

  • Dental assistants typically do the following:

  • Take and record vital signs

  • Assist with oral examinations

  • Prepare tray set-ups for oral procedures

  • Prepare patients and operatories for dental procedures

  • Expose digital radiographs and film, and perform x-ray processing

  • Help dentists by transferring instruments during procedures, such as fillings, crown preparations, and tooth extractions

  • Provide better visibility for dentists by using suction and other equipment

  • Take impressions and pour up models

  • Provide post-operative instructions as prescribed by the dentist

  • Provide patient prevention education

  • Maintain accurate patient treatment records

  • Schedule patient appointments

  • Work with patients on billing and payment

  • Manage infection and hazard control protocol

  • Identify and respond to medical and dental emergencies

  • Under the direction of the dentist, qualified dental assistants are allowed to perform the following procedures in Oregon:

  • Coronal polishing the surface of teeth

  • Apply dental sealants and fluoride

  • Fabricate and cement temporary crowns

  • Place temporary restorative material

  • Place retraction cord

  • Place and remove matrix retainers

  • Polish silver fillings

  • Perform tooth whitening procedures

  • Coronal polishing, which means removing soft deposits such as plaque, gives teeth a cleaner appearance. In sealant application, a dental assistant paints a thin, plastic substance over teeth that seals out food particles and acid-producing bacteria to keep teeth from developing cavities. Fluoride application, in which fluoride is put directly on the teeth, is another anti-cavity measure.
